This is a small post about Kindle eBooks as I have received a few messages from people saying they can’t read my book because they do not own a Kindle.
To explain: you don’t need to own or borrow a Kindle device to read a Kindle book. You do need a smart phone, tablet or PC, then all you have to do is download the kindle app.
Click the picture below to find links to download to your iPhone, Mac, Android device or PC. You may need to set up an Amazon account if you don’t already have one, and give your device a name such as ‘Connie’s iPhone’ or ‘John’s tablet’, and hey presto, you can own and read Kindle books.
One point to note is that new Kindle books must be purchased via the internet, you can’t do it in the app. on your device, which is for reading only. Once you have bought the book you can download it in the Library section of your Kindle app.
I have owned a Kindle device in the past but now, I read on my iPhone. The majority of my leisure reading is done in bed, and the phone is so much more comfortable than a larger device. You can adjust the colour, light level and print size and manage the whole process with one hand, while the rest of you is snuggled under the duvet (apart from your eyes!) Also, if you are reading a page turner, your phone is usually with you so you can keep reading at the railway station, on the bus or while waiting for the kids; perfect.
I agree that there is nothing so easy on the eyes as a real book, and it is good to see them on the book shelf but I am a techy and reading and writing come more naturally to me with technology.
Happy new year. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.
